AHQ Tours: 2002-2003

In January we were guests of Jeff Snedeker, at the Northwest Regional
Horn Workshop at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.

The horn quartet "Cortet" (from Pacific Lutheran University in
Puyallup, WA) won the quartet competition at this workshop, the members
took time to browse our table.

The AHQ took some time to try out Jim Decker's IVASI system, reading Don
Juan by Richard Strauss.

In February, we had the opportunity to both share our thoughts on
ensemble playing during a masterclass, as well as perform a recital at
the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Our host was professor Doug
Hill.

The 35th IHS Horn Symposium was held at the Indiana University School of
Music, in Bloomington, Indiana. At the gala concert we performed along
with other guest artists Eric Terwilliger, Andre Cazalet and Stephan
Jezierski.

In July we made another CD, this time featuring works for four horns and
Orchestra. We recorded this CD with the Sinfonia Warsovia of Warsaw
Poland, under the direction of Dariusz Wisniewski.

In August we made a trip to central Europe, our first stop on this tour
was in Bratislava, Slovakia.

After Bratislava, we were in Brno, Czech Republic, with concerts in the
Spielberk with the Brno State Philharmonic.
